JOSHUA GRIMWOOD

Born into a family of musicians, artists, and unpublished authors, Jellybean Gumbo (real name Joshua Grimwood) was ready for art and authorship at a young age. His rhyming style and child friendly illustrations offer a fresh new choice in the world of children’s books. Eelyk Flyks began as two separate projects. One was his daughter’s pre-school craft and the other was his Graphic design assignment at the Art Institute of California. He has illustrated a book in the works called ‘My Pet Spider’ by Cara Fleming, and written four follow up books for the Eelyk Flyks series. He has also written and illustrated ‘My Balloon Ride.' As a graphic designer, he has worked with numerous companies and ministries to fulfill their branding and marketing needs. He and his wife have also put together a huge collection of Christian apparel, called Atfish Apparel, as well as inspirational and artistic photography and book and cd reviews. Transplanted in Missouri, by way of Illinois, California, Korea, Texas and Virginia, Joshua has come in contact with many different veins of what we call Christianity. His works tend to appeal to people from all walks of life, thus encompassing all of humanity, as Jesus did with our salvation. His most current style has been in the vein of stencil graffiti. He has done portraits of a few Christian sports stars with a Christian theme, as well as some Christian musicians, usually with Sharpie markers and a touch of colored pencil. Joshua also likes to work in the abstract, and most of the colored pencil you will see will have some sort of abstract perspective. His love for Jesus inspires every detail. Joshua finds that when he is most focused on Christ, he has the greatest need to create. He believes that Jesus has complete control of what comes through his hand and prays that it will remind people of His grace and glory and that it would help them to stay faithful and focused on their journey with God. God has prepared Joshua with talent, provided him with avenues to showcase it and purposed this talent to bring glory to Him. Because all things are possible through Jesus, you are His audience and Joshua is merely one of His many platforms. Joshua's works have found homes from coast to coast, including two in the Christ Church of the Heartland collection (Missouri), the private collection of Mark Duplantis (Louisiana), the private collection of Bill Wilson (New York), and many others throughout California, Missouri, and Illinois. Thank you for allowing Him to touch your heart through The Grimm Collection. He credits God for his talent and his wife, Jessica Grimwood, his mother, artist Ruthi Norton, his sister, artist Aleksa Tesic, and his cousins, artists John Schou and Tyler Norton for his artistic inspiration.

JESSICA GRIMWOOD

From Missouri to California and back again. Through these moves and her marriage to Joshua, Jessica Grimwood's creative side has burst to the forefront. She tends to find God's glory in all things and her photography brings a fresh approach to the Christian subject. Sometimes pairing Scripture with her unique photography, her photos are sure to inspire. Her work with Christ Church of the Heartland will adorn the hallways of their new Children's building with colorful, smiling children. Candid, artistic portraits are her favorite because she has a gift for bringing someones personality to the photo and she enjoys the smile on her subjects face when they see the finished product.
